PANCHACHULI BASE CAMP
Panchachuli Base Camp Yatra from Dharchula
The Panchachuli Peaks in the Darma Valley are a series of five majestic summits, which hold great religious and cultural significance in the region. These peaks are often referred to as “Panchachuli” because of their distinct shape, resembling five fingers of a hand. The name “Panchachuli” comes from the Chuli (meaning “peak” in the local dialect), with “Panch” meaning five. The trek leads up to the base of these magnificent peaks, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Unlike the more frequently visited Panchachuli Base Camp near Munsiyari, the Darma Valley version is less commercialized and offers a more authentic, off-the-beaten-path experience for adventure seekers. It is considered a challenging trek that requires good physical fitness and previous trekking experience.
